Background

2 Ruskin Square is a ten-storey office development in East Croydon – part of the Stanhope and Schroders masterplan which connects East Croydon station to the town centre. Within the development, there are four retail units on the ground level, as well as associated parking and cycle facilities.

The Challenge

Rotec were commissioned by three separate sub-contractors for this scheme: a masonry contactor, a joinery contactor and a cladding contactor, to provide ‘supply only’ comprehensive steel door package for multiple levels; the basement, the 3rd floor and the roof. Therefore, the project schedule’s success can sometimes be at risk due to the number of different specification conversations being held with all three sub-contractors who each have different levels of knowledge.

With the London site location, we were met with a logistics challenge within a tight delivery specification with added extra safety features (silver FORS).

Our solution

Through our extensive industry experience and broad manufacturing capabilities, the Rotec team were able to provide a competitive ‘supply only’ quote to all three installers, while continuing to advise on value-engineered technical solutions.

Working closely with the three sub-contractors, Rotec supplied an extensive steel door package of x25 Fire-Rated Steel Doors, x2 LPS 1175 SR2 Security-Rated Steel Doors, and x5 Standard Steel Doors on the 2 Ruskin Square projects.

It was essential that the logistics of this project were executed smoothly and on time, due to our high involvement with three separate installers.
