NEW POLYFOAM XPS PRODUCTION LINE LAUNCHES WITH IMPROVED HIGH COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH INSULATION

06-09-2024

Polyfoam XPS, the Hartlepool-based manufacturer of extruded polystyrene (XPS) insulation, has a new production line to help meet rising demand for the company's products.

Significant financial investment, coupled with over two years of planning, installation and commissioning, means the factory will now have two lines producing thermal insulation for the construction industry and other specialist sectors.

The first product to be supplied from the new line is a relaunched and improved 'Super' range. Manufactured with a high compressive strength of 500 kPa, the Super insulation is offered for uses including car park decks, and commercial and industrial floors subject to high loads.

Manufacturing Super range insulation on the new line marks the resumption of making 500 kPa product in the UK.

"Launching our new line is particularly special" said Stuart Bell, Managing Director of Polyfoam XPS, "because 2024 marks the 40th year of the Polyfoam name.

"Those four decades have seen the Polyfoam range become synonymous with product quality and technical integrity. Now, with more capacity and new technology at our disposal, we can offer more and better products. Not just to our existing colleagues and customers, but new ones too - including many OEMs and specialists operating in sectors other than construction."

As Phil Hodges, National Sales Manager at Polyfoam XPS, explained, there is no better time to be offering better performing thermal insulation products: "Specifiers need robust, high-performance products that deliver what is promised.

"Over the last two years we have seen the number of architect's specifications naming Polyfoam products more than double. Those specifiers trust in our products and services, and we're delighted that we can continue serving them with the first of what will be many new and relaunched insulation boards."

The new production line follows hot on the heels of other developments, all demonstrating Polyfoam XPS's commitment to a better specifier and customer experience: a new-look website, a monthly email newsletter focused on construction quality, and making product information available in NBS Source.

Alongside the support services for specifiers, Polyfoam XPS is helping its distribution partners familiarise themselves with the new product by reintroducing its popular distributor newsletter and supplying copies of an XPS comparison char that will ensure insulation buyers get the product they need.
