Light, and services have been made available in fragmented ways before and presented to the user with unfamiliar interfaces.
A new generation of connectivity allows lighting to support features and services that have not previously been within reach, giving designers an important enabler. Within this personalised ecosystem it is possible to integrate: Bluetooth for speakers and connectivity, Wifi hub technology to aid connectivity, adaptable lighting to enhance wellness and wellbeing by supporting the human circadian cycle to increase concentration, and improve motivation. All of this is achieved from a simple mobile based app. USB, detection, near field chargers and other tech can be integrated as required. Initially developed for student study /education and bedroom applications, these units also allow an alternative strategy for office and workplace lighting, located at each workstation and personalised to each occupant and will give a unique and tailored experience to them whilst de-cluttering their space too.
