OPTIGRUN SEDUM GREEN ROOF SYSTEM

by Optigrun

A popular standard construction for extensive Green Roofs (0-5°)

The Optigrun Economy SEDUM ROOF system has proven itself in practice for decades. Drainage takes place via a drainage board (FKD), which is also well-suited to non-pitched roofs. The ECONOMY ROOF is particularly resistant and can be used on most standard roofs.

The cost of a green roof will depend on many factors such as specification, roof size and complexity and vegetation methods chosen. A good specialist green roof supplier will be able to look at your specific project requirements and provide either a budget cost or a full quotation

You can but it’s important to consider the weight of the green roof and the capacity of the existing roof structure to accept the load. We generally refer to saturated system weights, i.e. the weight when the build -up is at maximum water storage capacity. A typical extensive sedum roof, for example, will have a saturated weight of approximately 100kg/m2 with a biodiverse wildflower roof weighing considerably more. Some manufacturers like ourselves have developed special lightweight solutions which can overcome the issue of inadequate structural capacity
