Statuario is quarried in northern Italy, near Carrara. The word marble means to sparkle, flash and gleam, and has made this one of the most luxurios, organic building materials in the world. Extracted since 1956, Statuario marble is quarried under strict guidelines that preserve these maountains, with its own team geologists , selecting product and managing production balancing both market demand and material preservation. Statuario marble is classifyed in different names and qualities accroding to its veining and looks. Some varieties include Statuario Extra, Statuario Venato. Statuario comes in standard thicknesses of 20mm and 30mm althgouh it is possiblt to source thicker blocks of 40mm, 50mm and other thicknesses according to specification. It is available in polished with a beautiful high gloss and honed with a matt effect as standard with other finishes being made under request.
