Rosa Portogallo marble is a pink natural stone originally quarried in different regions of Portugal and very popular across Europe, with special interest in Mediterranean countries.
Its most renowned quarries are located in Vila Vi osa, vora which also has other marble types such as Crema Evora and the popular Bianco Estremoz which are then exported to the United Kingdom.
Rosa Portogallo marble presents a delicate pale pink backdrop with a unique combination of grey-to-white veining on a crystalline structured material which offers understated elegance to any other in which it is applied.
This is a marble that is not recommended for kitchen worktop applications as its mineral make up makes it prone to staining, etching and scratches. It is mostly used in areas and applications ranging from bathrooms, floorings, tiles, wall and furniture cladding, to steps and stairs as well as for fire place surrounds and fire place hearths.
It is available in standard thicknesses of 20mm and 30mm and slab sizes range in between 2400x1200mm to 3000x1900mm covering approximately 5.5 m2 of surfaces.
Its most popular finish is polished which offers a unique sheen and other finishes such as honed and satin can be sourced with a special order.
Rosa Portogallo marble is a very well known marble across Southern Europe and is becoming very popular in the North of the Continent in places and applications for commercial projects including restaurants, hotels, bars and reception desks which require a long-lasting material with a refined and graceful pattern that is characteristic of this beautiful material.
