Michelangelo marble is a white natural stone with distinctive mid-grey veins randomly scattered across its surface. Michelangelo marble is quarried in the north of Italy from Cava Michelangelo the quarry owing its name from the famous sculptor. Michelangelo marble slabs are carefully selected with fine variations in between the different marble stones provident from the Carrara area.
This material owes its name to the architect, poet and sculptor Michelangelo Di Lodovico Buonarroti Simoni, who commonly known as Michelangelo used this marble as a preferred stone to create sculptures which includes the famous David . Michelangelo chose this marble for carrying out his work due to the fact that whilst very strong, it presents a fairly soft structure that allows for shaping of the stone without major inconvenience.

Marble is a 100% natural product that varies in size, pattern and dimensions, making each piece unique. Slabs dimensions vary from block to block and cover an approximate area of 5.5m2.
Marble comes in standard thicknesses of 20mm and 30mm but can be sourced in thicker sheets and block formats.
