Available only in one quarry in the whole planet, located in Carrara, Italy, Calacatta Oro marble is a rare and unique natural occurrence. Its purest white background lacks other mineral combinations, its thick and bold grey and golden veins are in high demand whilst production of the material is limited and undergoes seasonal adjustments which often reflects on it price. Calacatta Oro marble was originally used by Michelangelo in the 1500 s and has since become a preferred stone for architects and interior designers since its beautiful veins can be handled in different ways, achieving different design goals and aesthetics. Marble is a 100% natural product that varies in size, pattern and dimensions, making each piece unique. Slabs dimensions vary from block to block and cover an approximate area of 5.5m2.
Marble comes in standard thicknesses of 20mm and 30mm but can be sourced in thicker sheets and block formats.
