Field Splice Plates are used in situations where the overall height of a truss is too great for the safe transportation of the truss. The plates allow for the cap of the truss to be site fixed using nails through pre drilled holes in the connector plate. The number and type of nail used in the connection is important and will be specified by the truss manufacturer when the trusses are supplied.
The LFSP plate is the lighter gauge field splice plate. This plate is made from 1.5mm galvanised steel. The FSP plate is a heavier gauage field splice plate made from 2mm galvanised steel for an even stronger connection.
All of our connector plates have been CE certified since 2009. From July 2013 all trussed rafters manufactured in the UK and Ireland will be CE marked in accordance with the Construction Products Directive.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that MiTek Industries is consulted before specifying.
