A distinctly coloured Carboniferous Sandstone from Doddington Quarry, Northumberland. Quarry records date back to 1897. This mainly fine grained pink to pale pink-purple sandstone gives a distinctive finish to traditional walling and intricate masonry projects alike. Extensive reserves of this high quality building Stone are readily available.
Doddington sandstone has been used extensively in Scotland, particularly Edinburgh, and Northern England for many years: records of buildings featuring Doddington sandstone still in use today date back to the 1880s.
