Guildhall, York

York’s historic Guildhall received a £21.7m funding boost to complete an extensive restoration and redevelopment programme with the aim to provide additional support to local businesses, entrepreneurs & start-ups looking to grow and drive economic growth within the city. Completed by main contractor Vinci the restored building included high quality office, meeting and conference spaces, café & restaurant provision and community & civic areas for visitors and local residents.

Langley Design were engaged from an early stage working to provide a bespoke bin storage unit and benching for the prestigious area. Designed and manufactured from Oak they offer a stunning finish whilst providing a durable and long lasting material solution. The bin storage unit was clad in alternating sized cladding pales to furnish the area with an additional stylish touch. We provided chunky 100 x 150mm timber bench slats which were mounted to the brick built planters and integrated seamlessly with the rustic look of the surrounding space. Finally finishing off the project we provided some of our standard Street Furniture staples, our Sheldon MCR200 sheffield cycle stands and MCR205 two tier cycle racks offer both traditional and hi-density storage solutions, and are suitable for use across a wide range of sectors and projects.
