Karina Nielsen Rios first collection for Kvadrat is comprised of upholstery, screen and Curtain Fabrics. The Curtains are called Zeze and Yoyo and the upholstery Checkpoint. Toto is the name of the screen textile. All the fabrics in the collection share a distinctive metallic look. Unusually for Kvadrat designer, Karina Nielsen Rios has developed a collection where the variation lies not in colour but in the structure of the yarn and the construction of the weave. When developing the collection, Karina Nielsen Rios focused on the way the yarn twisted and possibilities this created for the weaving process.
