Security Glass
Kite Glass manufactures a range of security glass products, designed to address the needs of environments where people need to be protected. Depending on the level of threat or security needs of the building, Kite Glass can assist with recommendations as to the best safety glass option, including blast resistant glass.
The manufacturing process that Kite Glass applies involves lamination and the insertion of industry leading interlayers between the glass sheets and in some cases on the exterior of the pane, the building’s internal glass face. These outstanding interlayers are lighter, thinner and more durable than traditional all-glass and glass-clad polycarbonate alternatives.
The application and interlayer type, as well as amount of interlayers chosen, will determine the glass strength. At the strongest level, security glass can withstand close-range impact from explosives and guns. At the lower level, security glass can work as a barrier and can be used in business areas to serve as a security door or window. Once installed, Kite Glass security glass helps to prevent unwanted visitors from entering the building even if they intend to use force.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Kite Glass is consulted before specifying.
