The Illuminated Wayfinding Totem is constructed from grade 316L stainless steel. It features an illuminated glass top which signals passers-by towards the tram/bus stop. Lettering is reverse mounted graphics on the inside of toughened glass. It is mounted on vitreous enamel base plates and features LED lighting with a focus on low power consumption. In 2018 the totems were retro fitted with solar panel power packs to illuminate the LED lighting.
The totems were designed and manufactured for the first stage of the Luas Project in Dublin City Centre. The Kent 2 Stage installation process is available as an optional extra and allows the paved area to be completed with a temporary base-box. The monolith panel is stored and protected elsewhere until site is due for completion and is simply fixed mechanically to the base box.
