Situated in a peaceful borough of the busy Capital of London, Cox architects designed a house that was accessible yet still had the warmth and feel of a family home.
An open and spacious interior was a must for this property whilst at the same time including hoists, hoist tracks and lifts in order to provide day to day support for the couple’s youngest daughter, who was diagnosed with a rare genetic illness at 18 months old. The couple added nearly 70sqm to the ground floor alone, helping to give the family more independent freedom and space.
The accessible elements that were incorporated into the home included ECLISSE pocket door systems and the ECLISSE Hoist Compatible Pocket Door System which allows the hoist track to be recessed into the ceiling and permits the hoist to pass seamlessly from one side of the doorway without the need for clunky or bulky arrangements. In the words of architect Steve Cox “there could not have been a better solution for us”.
