Unlike our competitors’ boilers, the Universal Series UL-S features a patented off-set furnace. This has distinct technical advantages over those which are centrally positioned, providing significantly better performance, efficiency and energy-savings.

With the off-set furnace, the convection of heat within the water flows naturally from the hottest part of the boiler (the furnace) to the second pass of tubes and then the third pass, and then finally back to the furnace. This leads to smoother heat transfer and a better quality of steam compared to centrally located furnaces, which create conflicting convection currents.

The off-set furnace also allows for a greater surface area for steam generation, meaning the boiler is able to respond to high peaks in demand. What's more, it promotes good water circulation within the boiler and prevents steam bubbles formed by the lower smoke-tubes fouling the heating surface of the higher tube bundles. The result is dry steam and high heat transfer efficiency from a compact boiler.
