Helical staircases do not have a supporting column and can incorporate a continuous handrail on both sides.
They are also not always circular, sometimes being elliptical or oval in shape allowing innovative designs to be produced. A helical staircase can often be the most striking especially if the design is a free standing feature, away from the wall.
The variety of materials available to compliment Helical Stairs gives it endless design possibilities. The architectural excellence of a helical staircase gives an elegant but dramatic entrance to any property.
Canal can accommodate helical staircases on any scale for residential and commercial environments.
All staircases are designed to comply with BS5395: Part 2, 1984 (spiral and helical staircases) and Building Regulations: Approved Document K.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that CANAL by Canal Engineering is consulted before specifying.
