Design has been a major part of the V&A's collection since its foundation in 1852. The Museum has been acquiring designs and manufactured wallpapers ever since. This Quatrefoil textured tile is based on one of 358 designs for small-scale coloured patterns for wallpaper by Heussner & Co., made in Britain in the 18 or 19th century. The matt and textured finish of this 248x498 wall tile would re create an exquisite wallpaper effect.
