The Brazilian ‘tumbled’ slate cobbles produced for Ardosia Slate are extremely hard wearing and suitable internally for hallways, Porches and fire hearths, whilst externally they provide an attractive and functional surface for paths, patios and driveways. The natural slate blocks, cut from 'black slate', are tumbled to give a worn, slightly chipped and aged appearance, which only improves with wear. The tumbling operation removes any sharpness from both the surface and edges of the 'cobbles', whilst leaving plenty of texture and pattern in the naturalslate material.
Laid on compacted Sand or fixed with adhesive, dependent on application, a floor can be formed from either Single size stones or a mixture of complementary sizes; whilst maintenance can be as simple as sweeping for external surfaces or mopping internal surfaces where they have been sealed.
Please note that these product properties are not a replacement for the manufacturer's literature and it is always recommended that Ardosia Slate is consulted before specifying.
